In 2015 Dan Harri along with George, Lisa, Ken and Nancy Twardzik purchased Harbor Haus Incorporated. The team has worked to maintain the excellence that is recognized regionally at the restaurant. In addition we have worked to expand and enhance the entire property to create the potential for a world class resort.
Dan Harri - Executive Chef & Proprietor
A native of Copper City, Michigan and a 1980 graduate of Calumet High School. My culinary education began by serving a 3-year apprentice with the American Culinary Federation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I then went on to the Culinary Institute of America in New York and California where I attended numerous CE courses at the prestigious Culinary Institute of America.
My career has taken me through the finest hotels, clubs and resorts in North America. I have worked for Hilton, Hyatt, Sandals Resorts, and Don Shula's Resort where I was Corporate Executive Chef for 18 years. I have done extensive work on a special project basis for numerous organizations and been featured on CNN, Food Network, local TV and radio programs.
Throughout my career I have received numerous awards, among them the Châine des
Rôtisseurs Metal of Excellence; Best of Show from the Caribbean Culinary Federation; The S.A.G.E award; and the Ultra, the prestigious Five Diamond Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences.
George & Lisa Twardzik - Proprietors
George spent the majority of his childhood in Copper Harbor where his parents owned and operated the Pines Resort and Zik’s Bar. Growing up in Copper Harbor has provided a unique insight into the complexities of this wonderful and magical place.
Lisa and George spent the majority of their professional life in education. In 2015 they joined with Dan to take over the Harbor Haus. George's parents, Ken and Nancy, also joined the team to continue the long legacy of quality at the Haus.
